Hiccup led you out of the great hall and down a well-worn path. His dragon, Toothless was walking between you two while Aurora was on your other side. You two walked in silence, but it wasn’t all that awkward…

…Yeah, okay, it was awkward.

You bit your lip, and then, before you lost your courage, rounded on Hiccup. “Look, I’m not going to pretend to like you, or this marriage. So don’t expect me to be all goody two-shoe with you.”

“I wasn’t expecting you to.” Hiccup replied. “You’re not the only one who’s angry about this whole thing. And judging from your look the first time I saw you, you’re pretty angry.”

“I had my back turned to you and was trying to get a Terrible Terror out of my mantle, who, by the way, is still in my mantle.”

“No, not that. I flew past you when you were heading to the cliffs.”

“That was you?” You briefly remembered the black blur zooming past, and so far Toothless was the only black dragon you had seen.

Hiccup nodded. “I was running a tad late, what with trying to disappear for a week and all, but turns out I didn’t need to be there until an hour later.”

You blinked. “I was there that long?”

“Time sure does fly by fast on this lovely little island, doesn’t it princess?” Hiccup looked back at you, recoiling slightly at the glare you now had in place.

“Don’t…call me that.”

“What, Princess?”

“Don’t!”

“Okay! Geez.” Hiccup held his hands up in surrender, and then the two of you fell into that awkward silence once again.

“So, uh…where am I staying?” You finally asked as you finally left the plaza.

“At our house I built.” Hiccup replied.

“…wait, house?”

“Yeah, I didn’t have as much time to build it as I would have liked, seeing as how I left with Toothless for a week and half, but its pretty decent-“

“House?” You cut the Viking off. “What house?!”

Hiccup stopped, and then looked at you. “What do you mean ‘what house’?”

“I was informed of this marriage 9 hours before we set sail to this island, knew only your name, and didn’t have time to fully cool off like you did!” You snapped. “So when I say what house, I want to know what house!”

“Alright, let’s just calm down.” Hiccup made a motion much like what you did when trying to calm Aurora down. Or any dragon for that matter.

You took a deep breath, and then huffed.  “Okay, I’m calm.”

Hiccup eyed you for a little while longer, and then launched into an explanation. “You’re going to stay at Berk for 6 months with me, at the house I built, so we can ‘get along’ I guess. Then, after that, we’re heading back to England on the wedding day to get married, and then after a week there, were coming back here.”

You guessed that made sense.  Your father wasn’t going to step down anytime soon, where’s Hiccup would be taking over very soon, so he was needed here. And…as much as you didn’t like Vikings, you would like it a lot better here than in England.

You were about to say that that sounded good before a thought struck you.

“…I don’t have to sleep with you, do I?”

Hiccup’s face went redder faster than you would have thought possible, and he quickly shook his head. You were quite surprised he didn’t break his neck. “NO! No, Gods no!”

“Good.” You said, the faintest of smiled crossing your lips. “Aurora would be pretty pissed if I slept with someone besides her.”

Hiccup opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by another voice.

“Hiccup!” You both turned to the direction of the voice. A blurry man about Stoick’s age and size was limping towards them.  He was missing two limbs, an arm and a leg, and he had a blond mustache that you could wrap around his neck.

“Hiccup! I’ve been looking all over for ya!” He came to a stop in front of your new ‘fiancé’.  “Your swords ready, and if you want it to turn out the way you want it to, you better get yourself over to the forge.”

Hiccup’s eyes widened in surprise. “Seriously!? That’s ready now?!” With a nod from the man he took off running. “Thanks Gobber!”

You, Aurora and Toothless watched him go. “Well…that’s showing good hospitality right there.” You mumbled.

“Ah, sorry about that.” The man, who you presumed to be Gobber, spoke. “It’s just that he’s very picky about the things he makes, and he want’s that sword to turn out a certain way and…who are you?”

Despite the mans sudden appearance and taking away of your ‘guide’, you couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m (Name).”

“Oh, Hiccup’s fiancé.” Gobber nodded. “Well, welcome to Berk.”

“So, Gobber. What’s your job around here?” You asked. You had known the man for 5 seconds but you already liked him.

“Blacksmith and dragon care taker.” He said proudly. “Hiccup was my apprentice you know. Taut him everything he knows about blacksmithing.”

“He was?” You asked. You didn’t really see Hiccup as the blacksmithing type.

“Aye. But he’s more into the artsy side of blacksmithing. You should see some of the things he’s made. A natural, that one is.”

This sparked your attention. You had always been interested in metalworking, but your father had never let you near any of the forges for fear of injury. Which you thought was utterly stupid, as you were around acid 24/7, which was way worse than fire.

You were about to ask Gobber something, but he, seeming to remember something important, spoke.

“I probably shouldn’t have taken you away from Hiccup.” He then paused. “Yup, defiantly shouldn’t have taken you away from Hiccup…come on then!”

“Where are we going?” You asked, following after the man anyway. Aurora and Toothless perked up, and then bounded after you.

“To the forge!”

oOo

You weren’t all that surprised to find Hiccup slaving over the sword Gobber was talking about. You were, however, surprised that he was carefully carving into the still soft metal with a chisel instead of pounding away at it like you had thought.

Toothless bounded over to Hiccup, and he hoisted himself up on his back legs, sitting back to watch his rider at work.

You yourself walked up to the table, gazing curiously at the sword.

Right now the carving was just indentions in the metal, but from what you could tell the Viking had a dragon design snaking its way up the blade. Its paws were gripping the edges of it while it’s tail wrapped about the hilt.

It already looked amazing, and you couldn’t wait to see the finished product.

“Are you making your self a new sword?” You asked.

Hiccup didn’t seem startled, and he kept working while he answered. “Honestly, I don’t know who I’m making it for.” He then looked up at you. “I had a idea, and it had to be made.”

You pulled up a stool as Hiccup went back to working, and you, Toothless and Aurora watched him finish his sword.

oOo

“You’re still here!?” You were now at your house, and were just about to go to bed when the Terrible Terror decided to make itself known. “Can’t you just leave me alone!?”

Aurora glared at the tiny dragon, then to Hiccup as he let out a laugh.

“It’s not going to.” He said, climbing into his own bed. “He saw you as it’s owner, so now you’re his owner.”

You sighed. “Great. Just great.”

“I thought you liked dragons.” Hiccup said.

“I do! But when you have one overly protective dragon, it’s kind of hard to socialize with others.” Aurora let out a growl, as if proving your point.  You sighed, and then placed the tiny dragon on the bedpost as Aurora hopped up on the bed. She wrapped her wings around you, growled at the Terror one last time before closing her eyes.

Hiccup blinked at the dragon, then looked at Toothless. The dragon let out a ‘whatever’ from his rock bed before curling up and going to sleep.

Hiccup shook his head, and then he too rolled over to sleep.

You yourself were still awake. This place was honestly a lot better than you had thought. Everything you knew about Vikings were completely thrown out as soon as you had landed, and Hiccup himself was nothing like you had thought.

You wanted to hate them and him, but you couldn’t really bring yourself to.

You groaned. “Oh, what am I supposed to do?”
Yay! More Hiccup!

So, you certainly have a dilemma going on. Not only do you now have a new pet dragon, your also torn between hate and love. Will you go with your gut feeling? Or continue to harbor the feeling you were born and bred with? And will Aurora ever come to love your new little Terror? Stay tuned to find out!
